Last week when I put together some tips for writing a weekly meal plan I forgot one important tip: Be Flexible. A meal plan, like a recipe, isn't written in stone. It's a starting point. If a particular meal makes more than anticipated eat it for dinner the next night. This happened with last week's vegetable lasagna. It made so much delicious food that we had it for dinner two nights in a row. As a result our meal plan had to change. There is no sense making more food if there's already some that needs to be eaten. Love your leftovers!
Weekly Meal Plan template.

DeleteJosee,
ReplyDeleteIn reading your blog and hearing from others a lightbulb is suddenly aglow in my head and it has to do with sourdough bread. I wasn't fully understanding why I kept hearing everyone rave about it, until I actually looked into it. Turns out there are so many health benefits to it which I know you are fully aware of.
Anyhow wondering if you can give me some tips or direct me to a great site that will be an easy entry into making it for the first time. I have never made bread before so I am a little leary. But any advice is much appreciated!
Thanks
Yes, sourdough bread is much healthier than conventional bread and so much more tasty! My first tip would be to see if you can find someone with a sourdough starter that you could use. You could start your own starter but I find that getting it going is tricky and tends to be a source of frustration for beginners. If you don't know anyone then you could try this starter: http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/233 or I could try mailing some of mine to you. As for the sourdough bread recipe I'll post it on my blog in the next few days :)
DeleteThanks Josee, I think I might know someone who has starter not sure if they are willing to share but will ask. I will check the link as well.
