Goals for 2013

At the beginning of this month I wrote a list of things that I would like to accomplish in 2013. My list isn't exhaustive or profound and it will probably change as the year unfolds. The list goes along like this: make a family tree picture wall using these ledges, buy free weights and use them, do ten pull ups on the hang board, go on a family camping trip, learn how to fish, go fishing with my eldest son, catch a fish, go birdwatching, learn how to make cheese, plant berries bushes, build a herb garden, join a running group, find a dentist, host a faith study of some kind, complete a quilt for each family member... the list goes on.

Since we have returned from our trip up North I have been without a vehicle during the day. In many ways I don't mind. There are plenty of things to do around our home, inside and out, and thanks to my list I have been keeping busy attempting pull ups and quilting. Because I am a beginner, both at pull ups and quilting, I find these things take up a lot of time. Well, the quilting takes time, the pull ups don't because I can only do one - haha! Quilting is a fun challenge but when I need a break I return to my knitting projects.

Knitting goes on steadily. My wrists have been a bit sore so I try to pace myself and do some stretches. The shell of my son's frog is complete. It needs to be stuffed and sewn together. I think he knows that I'm knitting him a frog because he keeps asking me about it. The pattern comes from Knitting Toy Tales. Last night I snuggled by the fire and read through the fourth issue of Taproot. It's a beautiful magazine and can hardly wait for the next issue to arrive.

  2. Great crafty goals. My wrists get sore with too much knitting on the same size needle, too. Can you switch it up to a project on bigger/smaller needles for breaks in between? Looking forward to seeing that finished froggie!
