It seems like Autumn's transformation takes more time here. Or perhaps it's that there are more signs of summer to cling to. Today we picked the last of the fresh frost-kissed strawberries and ate the last of our fresh corn and heirloom tomatoes. There are still plenty of apples and gourds but soon those will be gone too.
These last few months have been filled with preserving the summer's bounty. Large batch preserving has come to an end and the pantry is stocked. I am thankful. Now that our firewood is piled high, I find myself enjoying the heat of the fire and moving towards different tasks. The time has come again to take up the knitting needles and dust off the sewing machine. I hope to have a handmade Christmas once again so I need to begin my projects very soon.
Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim :)
DeleteOh, I just loooove your new header picture. All your pictures are great. You know what?? My husband said he'd get me a SERGER for Christmas!!! I can't WAIT! I'm sewing more now and knitting more too, mostly because we need a few things here and there, and I just can't get myself to spend money on something I can make for cheap (like diaper inserts).
ReplyDeleteOh how lucky! I'm excited for you! I don't have a serger, but I don't sew much clothing. I've often wondered if I would sew more clothes if I had a serger... but it's seems like a fairly expensive experiment to try.
