Yarn Along: Slow Knitting

I have to be honest. There hasn't been much knitting around here these days. I've been caught up planning my sister's bridal shower which is happening this weekend.

I just started working on a little Milo vest for my friend's baby boy, but my progress is painfully slow. I'm worried that the vest will be too small by the time I send it and wonder if I should restart in a bigger size. It's a size six months, but if her little boy takes after her dad (who is tall) the vest might be too small. Hmmm... I also have cardigan to fix for another friend. Clearly I need to get some knitting done.

As for reading, I'm still working on Between Heaven and Mirth and started Change Comes to Dinner. I also just received Three Days on a Rive in Red Canoe in the mail and Monkey and I enjoyed reading it together for the first time tonight. This is one of the books for the June Read Aloud Book Along over at Bird and Little Bird. After reading the book, Monkey wanted to go on a canoe trip tomorrow. It's such a beautiful book and a great inspiration for doing our own canoe trip sometime this summer.

  1. That is fabulous yarn!! I'm still slowly plugging away at my cardigan. It's too depressing to take yarn along pictures of what looks like no progress every week. How is your tea leaves coming along?

  4. That yarn is beautiful and that book looks really cute. I wonder if the library would have it. I haven't picked up a knitting needle this entire year. It's very sad...but I mostly like knitting in the cooler months.

The milo looks like it is off to a good start.
