I finished the first fingerless glove last night while watching Anne of Green Gables. I love that show and should really purchase the TV series someday. I had to alter the mitt pattern slightly to fit my small hands but I'm really happy with the way the mitt has turned out. It looks like Hubby won't have to wear them after all.
The last few days I've been doing some research into beekeeping and wine making. Beekeeping seems like a great deal of work so I'm going to focus on wine making instead. The Complete Guide to Making Your Own Wine at Home is a great beginner book and I'm learning lots of good things from it.
With Christmas around the corner I don't plan on starting any wine just yet, but I really should start baking cookies. Martha Stewart's Cookies

You know, its funny - I've been reading and thinking about beekeeping too! Its something I'd like to do when I get a little more settled (I'm just after moving for the 3rd time in 2 years :S). Looks really interesting and something pretty important with the decline of bee populations in recent years.
ReplyDeleteI love to do lots of festive baking this time of year too. I'm making some gingerbread macarons later today with Clare (first time I'll make macarons ever. Have you ever tried them?) and I'll get into it properly next week.

ReplyDeleteI read and read up on bee-keeping years ago only to find out I'm highly allergic to bee's. I still want 'us' (Meaning my husband) to do it because I think they honey would help my allergy, but my husband had a bad enough scare and won't agree to keep them anywhere near our home - oh well!
