I didn't change the directions of the recipe, only the ratios of some of the ingredients which I've listed below:
Topping:
1 Tbsp. butter
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup cheddar cheese
2 cups elbow macaroni
Sauce:
3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
2 3/4 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
4 cup sharp (old) cheddar
salt and pepper for seasoning

I really love mac and cheese, but my husband despises it. Sigh... someday when I'm a SAHM this is what the kids and I will eat for lunch. Every day. Haha, just kidding...but I miss it.
